Sorry about the almost 2-month hiatus -- my mom had a stroke in November and well she passed away just before the start of the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Her feast day is on 12 December - but the celebrations begin on 9 December since that is when she first began her appearance in 1531. This feast is celebrated throughout Mexico and in areas when there are large concentrations of Mexicans, pochos and Xicanos. For example see how the Archdiocese of Chicago celebrates her this year.
