Would you wanna be in Queens for un dia?

I don't know if you've been following the ConEd debacle in Queens. I think the downstate pols are correct about what any NY Governor would do if something this bad happened upstate. The Times
article, quoted the Dem pols:

"At a news conference in Sunnyside, Representative Joseph Crowley, Councilman Gioia, State Assemblyman Gianaris and Assemblywoman Catherine T. Nolan, all Democrats who represent constituents in the blackout area, called on Gov. George E. Pataki to designate western Queens a disaster area and request federal emergency aid, including generators and even National Guard troops if necessary.

“If this were an area of 100,000 people in upstate New York, the governor would have declared it a disaster area,” Mr. Crowley said."

Yeah -- IMO this might be the tipping point that allows NYRI to be built.....
