Bankruptcy Bill

I see that the odious bankruptcy bill written by the credit card companies for the Repuglicans is about to be passed by the Senate. This action does not in the least surprise me. It is the type of legislation one would expect to be passed in a banana republic or some sour backwater red state. The bill is packed with hostile provisions to working families while allowing the rich and corporations to get away with murder. We now see what life in the Republic will be like as Southern fundamentalist values move from being an isolated infection to a disease in our body politic. We will soon be forced into peonage for our corporate masters. I presume those are the policy implications of "compassionate conservatism."
